Ask any person on the street and they will likely tell you that CO2 and global warming is a bad thing that needs urgent attention and mitigation. The second conventional wisdom is that the invention of the steam engine and the advent of the coal-fueled industrial age marked the beginning of human influence on global climate.
Both appear to be wrong according to new research that was presented yesterday at a meeting of the American Geophysical Union, where scientists presented evidence to back a radical new theory. The earth should now be in a new glacial ice age, with glaciers covering Siberia, Greenland, Canada, and the Rockies and it's only because of human-influenced green house gases that we are not walking around in parkas & shivering all year round.
